Origin
Around February 2020 on a Minecraft server hosted by Valter, a SethBling datapack was added to the server to add the ability to put saddles on Bees[1], resulting in some hilarious side effects. Namely, bees going extremely fast backwards at uncontrollable speeds[2].
Around this time, Katon cracked the joke that the its "Initial bee" instead of "Initial D".
"Look! Its drifting! Initial B!"
Shortly after saddling the bee, the Bee was lost into the wilderness / unloaded chunks of the server, without the safe containment within the garden greenhouse. A few days later, Ze located the bee while wandering[3].

Common Misconceptions

Initial B Game
In November 2020, Valter created a playable game of "Initial B", https://initialb.valter.cat/. It was said by Valters boss that "Initial B" was their favorite game.
