Stellaris is a real time 4X grand strategy sci-fi game. It features gameplay similar to the Civilization franchise. Like most Paradox games, it has plenty of DLC to offer and take every opportunity to remind you during the empire creation process that it would make Sims 4 blush. However, the base game has plenty to gameplay offer even without the DLC enabled.
